Texas Tech Struggles in 47-38 Loss To Texas A&M

On February 14th at home, the Red Raiders lost to the Aggies, 47-38, in Big 12 play. Texas Tech kept it competitive, going into halftime up 26-17, but Texas A&M came out strong in the second half and took it away at the end.

A couple facts coming into the game: The RPI ranking for Texas A&M was higher, #164 to #221. The Red Raiders had lost to the Aggies earlier this season, 67-54.

Texas Tech was dominated in rebounding and also struggled in three-point shooting.

There was a big gap in rebounding with Texas A&M tallying 41 boards compared to 23 by Texas Tech. Texas A&M got too many quick points off threes, with 41% shooting from three-point range and 28% for Texas Tech. A huge issue for Texas Tech was its 38 points, coming in way below its 60.2 season average.

Jaye Crockett led the losing effort for the Red Raiders with 12 points on 54% shooting in 38 minutes.

The Red Raiders now find themselves at 8-17 and still looking for answers. Their Big 12 record goes to 1-12, still good enough for 10th place.
